GOUNDFORCE _ IMPORTANT UPDATE
CRICKETFORCE WEEKEND
Another Cricketforce weekend has come and gone and some work has been completed with a bare handful of volunteers.
The small band of people who turned up, (including some member’s children who did a great job) had no chance of getting through the amount of work that needed to be done, and as a result, there is still plenty to do.
Consequently, we still need to get the ground into a fit state for the season ahead.
Of course, this state of affairs was very disappointing and cannot be allowed to continue.
What I find especially deplorable is the fact members seem to be willing to leave the work to a very small band of other members, including two lasses aged 10, a lad with a broken foot and two young lads, one of whom had travelled from Coventry on Saturday morning to help and another who finished work mid morning, then pedalled from Marton to do his bit.
Therefore, until the ground repairs have been done and the net/training area is prepared, this Tuesday and Thursday, reluctantly we may/will have to suspend netting until the remaining work is done.
The good news if we all do our bit on Tuesday/Thursday, the remaining work can be polished off quickly and we can get back to practising for the season ahead. Therefore, please attend the ground prepared to do some work for the club. (You may want to bring your work clothes instead of your training gear)
No doubt this you will be disappointed with this but if all had given one or so hour of your time over the weekend all the work would all have been done.
